EER2
The Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER2) that calculates the energy the unit uses to function. It can be found by dividing a unit’s BTU output by its wattage, and the high EER2 rating means a more efficient air conditioner, so the higher the better.
IEER (Integrated Energy Efficiency Ratio): Reflects a system’s overall seasonal cooling efficiency by averaging performance across multiple part-load operating conditions.
Operation
A single-stage unit operates at full capacity when on, a two-stage unit has two levels of operation (low for mild heating needs and high for maximum heating), and a modulating unit continuously adjusts its output to match the precise heating demands, offering more efficient and consistent temperature control.
